Farmer’s Market & CSA

You can enjoy all that Supa Fresh Youth Farm has to offer by finding us at a local Farmer’s Market or becoming a member of our seasonal CSA.

By becoming a member of our CSA, you gain direct access to fresh, high-quality, produce grown by local farmers by purchasing a share of the harvest in advance. At Supa Fresh Youth Farm, 100% of the produce is grown on site by our youth.

What is a CSA?

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. By becoming a member of a CSA, you gain direct access to fresh, high-quality, produce grown by local farmers by purchasing a share of the harvest in advance. Think of it like signing up for a subscription to your local farm, or Netflix for vegetables.

When you become a CSA member you make a commitment to support your local farmer and to yourself and your family to embrace healthy, home-cooked, seasonal foods; in turn, your farmer makes a commitment to provide you with a share of the harvest that includes a wide variety of their freshest, best quality produce. At Supa Fresh Youth Farm, 100% of the produce is grown on site by our youth.

At Supa Fresh Youth Farm, 100% of the produce is grown on site by our youth.

All of the produce in your CSA is grown without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, or GMO seeds.

How Does it Work?

The 2024 Supa Fresh CSA season is 12 weeks, from July 11th to September 26th.

Each week our CSA members receive a seasonal mix of 6-12 types of sustainably-grown vegetables, herbs, and some fruit. If a crop does very well that season then we share the bounty with our members, and if a crop is not as abundant that season members get other produce items instead.

In addition to a variety of fresh produce, members will receive a weekly newsletter created by our youth, that provides news and educational information from the farm, as well as recipes and suggestions for each week’s harvest. Members will also receive some of our handmade soap, and have the opportunity to visit our mini-markets at pick up.

All of the produce in your CSA is grown at the Supa Fresh Youth Farm without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, or GMO seeds. While we are not certified organic we use organic techniques, as well as some permaculture design principles. All of the youth farmers are trained in sanitary harvesting and processing techniques by experienced commercial farmers, and complete the Washington County Department of Public Health Food Handler’s Training.

  • SOLD OUT!  Full Share w/Biweekly Pick Up (1-2 people)—this option is great for a smaller household, who may not go through an entire share each week, or for those who want to try out a CSA for the first time. Biweekly pick up, for a total of 6 shares. $225, with each share valued at $37.50

Season Dates

Our first pick up of the season will be July 11th, and continue every Thursday until September 26th. Biweekly members will receive a list of specific pick up dates for their group upon application.

    Benefits of a CSA

    • They provide members with the freshest possible produce–Supa Fresh CSAs goes from harvest to your hands in less than 48 hours.
    • They are affordable, at $37.50 per week (Full Share) and enough veggies and herbs for 2-4 people, and we offer payment options to make them even more accessible!
    • They are good for the local economy and support local farmers as well as members.  CSA Members, by paying in advance, support farmers early in the season. Members reserve a share of fresh produce, while also sharing in the risks and rewards with the farmer.
    • By purchasing a Supa Fresh CSA share you get the satisfaction of knowing that you helped empower local youth.

What’s the Best Way to Enjoy a CSA?

CSAs work best when members embrace seasonal eating. Eating seasonal foods not only ensures that you will get the freshest and most affordable food, but food also tastes better when it’s in season. The best way to use your CSA is to plan your menu sort of–backward–plan your meals around your weekly share, rather than first planning your menu and then picking out ingredients.
